This is what I did to get the final format logo:
Opened the master one in Inkscape
Selected all layers
Changed Simplify setting under Edit->Preferences->Behaviour to 0.0015 from the default of 0.002 so that it does *less* simplification for better image
Chose Paths->Simplify  
Saved as "optimized" svg with 4 digit precision and stripping out basically everything unnecessary

For B&W version I used same process but used Extension->Color->Black and White tool and set the threshold to 195
